The ceremony is usually done in 3 days. On the first day or Wan Home, the Phi Ta Khon procession will parade around the village from dawn. It is the ceremony to invite Phra Uppakut on the Mun Riverside to the temple. There is the performance of walking clockwise for 3 rounds, firearms and firecrackers.
On the day of the event, Dan Sai residents, nearby villagers as well as both Thai and foreign tourists join the parade. Some even dress up as Phi Ta Khon. It is regarded as a famous tradition that deserves further preservation.
